After realizing that Tanner has been captured by an army of angry Illagers, Lakely and her friends are faced with a dangerous choice. How on Earth do they get Tanner back? After a daring, dangerous, and near fatal escape reveals some deadly secrets, cracks form in the group. No one knows who to trust, and things begin to fall apart quickly. Lakely finds herself racked with distrust and anger toward people she once considered allies. Illagers are sharing their allegiance to Sarah. Illager's experiments have gone too far. And to make matters worse, the village itself is revealed to be weaker than anyone expected.

As the friends try to come up with a plan to save the village and their friendships, new relationships blossom. Lakely finds herself questioning lots of new feelings, and experiencing fear for the first time as she dives headfirst into a dark, dangerous and desperate cave...unsure if she will return. Will Lakely and her friends be able to agree on one plan to save their village? Will they band together and trust one another despite the arguments and more? Or will they succumb to distrust, fear, and death?
