Description
Sweat drips. Knees burn. Legs buckle.
Polly is halfway up the hill in the big 10K today. She's not sure she can finish. She hears a THUD THUD behind her. Betty Bear the polar bear is about to pass her.
"Poor roly poly," Betty sneers. "You're strolling too slowly." As she rushes ahead, Betty loosens a stone that comes rolling right back at little Polly.
Polly curls up into a safe little ball.
I'm safe here, she thinks. Maybe I should be done. Racing with polar bears isn't much fun.
But she's trained so hard. She can't give up, no matter the toll.

Synopsis
