There's life in and beyond the French Quarter having little to do with the raucous notoriety of Bourbon Street on a Saturday night, and more to do with connecting with the people around you, all seeking the truth about themselves. People don't go to New Orleans because it's perfect, they go because it 's imperfectly human in its joys and sadness. From the silent spaces of Jackson Square at night to the open skyline across the Mississippi River in Algiers Point, New Orleans sings, dances, lives, dies, loses, and loves in that place that reveres the importance of understanding the darkness of one 's soul as much as its light. Because you can't live in the city without realizing you're not just one or the other, you're always both. I Saw You in New Orleans is a collection of street photos unlike any you might expect, from a photographer discovering truth in his city, its people, and himself, as he struggles with his own inner demons.
