You needn't look far to see that those aged fifty and above are not as highly regarded today as they were decades, even centuries, ago. It seems as though the younger generations express a disdain toward gray hair, glasses, and slower movement. Author Andrea Clarke Pratt is well aware of this harsh reality and feels that God has led her to write a book encouraging love for the aging population. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Andrea became even more assured that a book of this nature was needed during these difficult times to inspire those most vulnerable to the virus. I'm Loving My Age: A Believer's Guide to Aging Gracefully and Words of Hope for the Elderly is a compilation of promises from the Bible, poems on aging, legacy statements, and even a family tree that encourages its older readers to celebrate all the wisdom and insight they have acquired over the years and help them realize that age isn't something to be looked down upon. Although some of the stories included in the book are fictionalized, their underlying principles hold true in the real world; they show how, contrary to the belief that the elderly are inadequate in society, God still has a plan and purpose for them. The presence of even biblical figures such as Naomi can be recognized for the insight they provide about the older generation through their life journeys. The older generation can still be used by God to awaken everyone, including the younger generation, to what it means to know and love Jesus. The perfect gift for one's parent, older friend, or beloved neighbor, I'm Loving My Age will prompt anyone who reads it to gracefully celebrate their age and not believe that their life is over once they reach the age of fifty. To God, your life and purpose might just be beginning Andrea Clarke Pratt retired in 2018 after more than 30 years in the corporate world. She then pursued the field of Education and is currently teaching at a local High School. Andrea knew in her early teens God had a plan for her life. Although she strayed for some years, she rededicated her life to Jesus Christ in her late 20's and began to grow in the knowledge of His love. Her hunger for the Word of God led her to complete a Master's Degree in Theology. Andrea is the daughter of Reverend Yvonne Clarke and deceased father, Deacon Kingsley Clarke. Andrea and her husband, Pastor Edward Pratt, reside on the beautiful island of New Providence in The Bahamas and are the parents of 4 children. Her favorite scripture is Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
