This book was created to help children understand what safety and boundaries mean in their lives. It explains in simple ways what abuse and neglect are and reassures children that these things are never okay. Children learn that abuse and neglect are not part of God's loving plan for them, and that it is always right to speak up and tell a safe adult if they or someone they know is being hurt.
The book also guides children who may be in the foster care system, helping them understand the process so they don't blame themselves for what has happened. Instead, they are reminded that they are valuable, loved, and not at fault.
Most importantly, this book empowers children and families to take action. It teaches that reporting abuse and neglect not only helps protect the child but also gives those who caused harm a chance to reflect, learn healthy boundaries, and get help with challenges such as substance use, mental health, and healing.
The message is simple: there is help and hope for everyone. By learning, speaking up, and supporting one another, children and families can create safe, loving environments where all can grow and thrive.
Life in Doll World had always felt bright and full of life to eight-year-old Liliana. But when worrying signs of abuse and neglect start to crop up, it's up to the kind helper dolls to keep Liliana and her brother Lucas safe. At the discretion of a wise judge doll, the kids are removed from their mother's care and placed in a foster home, where Liliana learns what it means to be truly loved, and that new beginnings can be a wonderful thing!
Meanwhile, Liliana's mother, addicted to yuck alcohol and covered head-to-toe in the Devil Doll's dark webs, will need to go through a retraining process in the ways of the Creator Doll-learning about self-care, healthy choices, and how to break free of the Devil Doll's hold over her. Only then will she be able to rebuild her life and, some day, give Liliana and Lucas the wonderful life they deserve.
Thanks to the warmth of those around her along with a visit from the Creator Doll Himself, Liliana begins to understand a simple truth: what's happening with her mother is not Liliana's fault, and it's down to Momma to make the right choices for herself.
