"INITIATION", is a book that was inspired by my own personal intervention-free pregnancy and free-birth. The writing for the book began when I was 8 months pregnant and continued in a seamless way months after my sweet baby girl was born at our home in 2020. The book is about offering a new perspective on pregnancy, birth and motherhood. It offers an opportunity for mothers to evolve their own consciousness and in turn help evolve humanities. I bring this perspective alive in the story of my own personal story and shed some light on the destructive ways societal programs limit us as women when entering into these initiations. I share with you the practices I used that helped me gain a wholistic self-care routine throughout my journey and the tools I used to transcend limiting beliefs and have the pregnancy and birth of my dreams. This book was written to help inspire other mothers that were looking to experience higher awareness and meaning to their journey into pregnancy, birth and motherhood.
Author Biography
My name is Laura Wighton, I am 26 years old and I am blessed to call the hinterland of the Byron shire home. I have lived here now for 7 years and continue to fall in love with the rainforests, creeks, sounds of cicadas and the abundance of nature that surrounds me every day. It is in our sweet old farm house in the rainforest that I walked through the high waters of Pregnancy and birth and where I will be based for some time as my family and I get rekindled with the life of 4. It is also here where I birthed the idea of this book and where so much of my creative ideas and energy are ignited from. I have a background of studying health science, which in the past and still to some degree now have been a huge obsession and passion of mine. Getting to know the human body and all of its mechanisms is exciting and keeps me inspired for life. I have always held writing close to my heart and have used it to express many of my own curious perspectives about the world. I hope to continue to intertwine my own passionate lifestyle of writing, health, motherhood, spirituality, conscious evolution and let these be the fertile forces from which many things grow.
