It seems like people either believe Jesus is real without question, or they're convinced it's all a hoax and a fairy tale.
However, people like us wonder how a mere fairytale could impact humankind throughout history all across the world, yet so many people who believe in Jesus seem to be hypocrites. So we wonder, was Jesus a real person and if so, who was He, really?
Perhaps you wonder how's a person supposed to know the truth about the historical Jesus and Christianity (following Jesus)? Why do people follow Jesus? You may be asking yourself, "Do I want to follow Jesus?" and if so, how do I follow Him?
Let me say also, it's not your fault if you don't know what you believe about Jesus. Most schools don't teach religion, religious history, or anything substantial about Jesus any more.
You may have been curious about Jesus for a long time, but you don't want to have to go to church to learn about Him. However, you really want to know more about Jesus, if He IS a real person!
This Journal Bible Study is a small investment to settle your soul on the question about whether you believe Jesus is Real. You can give yourself the gift of clarity in your personal beliefs about Jesus through a no pressure study like this one.
This study is designed to be an easy exploration of Jesus and shares evidence we have for facts in the Jesus narratives. You'll learn about the artifacts and historical documents on record for each of the facts presented in the Book of Luke, a Gospel book in the New Testament of the Christian Bible.
Historical and archaeological evidence is shared at the end of each chapter, and a full URL is provided for each resource site. That way you can study the historical evidence as lightly or as deeply as you desire, but you can get the overall picture easily.
If you're concerned this will be a dry, boring history book, by no means! Reading Luke's book is like reading a story book. The Book of Luke is a complete story of the life of Jesus, written through interviews with people who personally knew Jesus.
The study format is a JOURNAL with journaling lines, and a workbook with reflection questions for each chapter to help you formulate your own thoughts about Jesus. You'll have thoughtful questions and points to consider, but the book won't tell you what to think! That will be up to you to decide.
What you decide about whether Jesus is real is totally up to you. After you've been through this study you'll be more knowlegeable about the evidence that exists and what you believe. You will more confidently fit in with people who have similar beliefs, because you will have determined for yourself what you believe is real versus fiction.
This Journal Study is ideal for a small group bible study for adults, for couples or individual men or women, or as an introductory Bible study suitable for new church visitors. It will help each person decide for themself: "Is Jesus Real?" as they journey with Jesus through the Gospel of Luke in the New Testament.
