Discover Ancient Egypt's Greatest Love Story Told by a Real Egyptologist
When the mighty god Osiris is betrayed and murdered by his own brother Set, the goddess Isis refuses to give up. She spreads her magnificent wings and sets out on an impossible quest across Egypt - to find her beloved and bring him back to life. This is the story of love, betrayal, death, and resurrection that ancient Egyptians told for over three thousand years.
Why this book is different from any other Egyptian mythology book for kids:
- Written by Dr. Vesela Atanasova, a real Egyptologist who has researched at Oxford University, the Sorbonne, the French Institute in Cairo, and the Karnak Temple Research Centre. Every detail in this book is historically accurate.
- Illustrated by Irina Makedonska in the authentic style of ancient Egyptian art - the same visual language used by Egyptian artists for 3,000 years.
- Based on original ancient Egyptian sources - not a retelling, but the myth as the Egyptians themselves told it.
- Includes an illustrated glossary of Egyptian gods and hieroglyphic symbols - Ankh, Anubis, Geb, and more.
- Features cut-and-stick activity with Egyptian gods for hands-on learning.
- Part of the Ancient Myths for Kids series - spanning Egypt, Ancient Greece, Minoan Crete and many more.
Inside this book your child will discover:
- The creation of the world from a lotus flower
- The eternal battle between Good and Evil
