Dr Esra Alhamal is the General Manager of the School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation in Fujairah, UAE and she also teaches courses online. Esra completed her PhD in Islamic biomorphic patterns at the University of East London in 2022. She is also an Islamic art educator and the host of the Art Illuminated and the Golden Pages podcasts. She is the co-founder of 'Bristle and Brush', an artisan watercolour brand, and her artwork has been exhibited in the UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Oman. www.islamicillumination.com
