This quirky, fun board book with rhyming text introduces young readers to Summerween, a celebration of summer and Halloween that was inspired by an episode on the animated television series Gravity Falls. This mashup of summertime fun and Halloween is a fun nod to the holiday and a visual treat for young readers, from bats flying kites and mummies chasing an ice-cream truck to watermelons and pineapples carved to look like jack-o'-lanterns enjoying summertime activities. A counting element introduces children to numbers 1 to 10 as they explore the colorful, humorous pages.
Author Biography
Tammi Salzano grew up in upstate New York and has been involved in children's books for nearly 30 years. She has written more than 65 books for young readers and has edited countless more. When she's not busy searching for a word that rhymes with "together," she can be found baking cookies and taking too many pictures of her cats. Several years ago, she decided to escape the cold weather and now lives with her family in sunny (and warm) Florida.
Gaby Zerme?o is a freelance illustrator and concept artist based in Mexico. She is a graduate of the University of Guadalajara with a degree in Graphic Design, but now she's focused on illustration. She also studied Visual Development and has worked as a background artist and character designer.
