We all know life can be tricky, but sometimes we believe we have it all figured out. In reality, God has a plan for each of us, and giving God the control to guide us can allow us to release the hurt, confusion, and unforgiveness we may hold in our heart. Our spiritual journeys must be nourished to help us lead lives that are pleasing to Him. I've Learned: Poems Inspired by the Lord by Leland Sauls II is a poetry collection that uniquely and intricately explores the nature of living and how we can align our purpose for what God has planned. Each poem emotionally illustrates the truth about God, weaving in Leland's personal thoughts, struggles, and lessons to emphasize the need for giving God the glory and authority. After reading The Purpose Driven Life by Pastor Rick Warren and getting baptized on Father's Day at Rock City Church, Leland was inspired to write this collection of poems. The Lord revealed His purpose for Leland's life, and Leland knew that sharing his poems would enable him to show the power of God's immense love for all. Leland Sauls II was born and raised by his two loving parents in Columbus, Ohio. At the age of twenty-one, he decided to join the US army where he was initially stationed in Germany only three weeks before 9/11. After marrying his wife, he went to Iraq to fight in the war as a communication specialist. He was then stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, was eventually discharged due to injury, and separated from his wife, leading him back to Columbus. His experiences and hardships made him realize the importance of letting the Lord pave the way for his life.
