The gap between Islam and the Christian world has historically been more about cultural differences and geographical barriers than theological views, and even in places where Islam is prevalent it is the social and political issues that routinely make headlines. Ironically, the link between Islam and Christianity is also the primary source of contention, with both believing in the prophethood of Jesus, while differing on the issue of divinity. Jesus Christ, True Man, True Prophet is a detailed exposition that compares the biblical Jesus with the Jesus of Islam and invites the reader to open his/her mind and think objectively about the contents of the Bible as it relates to the nature of Jesus. Omar Noor, a recent convert to the religion of Islam, challenges the traditional view of Jesus and submits that the authors of the New Testament did not believe in the divine Messiah that effectively characterizes the Christian faith. His candid yet compelling arguments feature comprehensive contextual analysis of certain key passages, as well as careful consideration for the etymology of relevant terms. A must read for any student of the Bible or religious enthusiast. A book that promises to stimulate debate among Christian and Muslim intellectuals.
