Author Biography
Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was a renowned American novelist and author best known for her beloved novel Little Women. Born in Germantown, Pennsylvania, she grew up in Concord, Massachusetts. Alcott's works explored themes of family, womanhood, and societal norms, reflecting her own experiences. Her writing career blossomed during the Civil War, where she served as a nurse in the Union Hospital. Her experiences there became the subject of her nonfiction work, Hospital Sketches. With the success of Little Women, she published many more works for young readers. Today, Alcott's writings continue to inspire readers of all ages with their enduring messages of love, sisterhood, and personal growth.
