Samantha Shannon nació en el oeste de Londres en 1991. En 2013 publicó La era de huesos, el primer libro con el que inauguró la serie del mismo nombre, compuesta por siete novelas, y con la que se convirtió en autora bestseller de The New York Times y de The Sunday Times.
