Bajo la concepción actual, la sexualidad es vista de una manera parcial, donde se enfatiza el aspecto biológico y genital desde una visión hedonista y empobrecida. Sin embargo, el aspecto que más nos debería interesar es ver la sexualidad a la luz del Diseño Inteligente. Nos referimos a la sexualidad emocional, que deberíamos verla como el alma de una sexualidad integral.
La sexualidad emocional es la corona de la sexualidad genital e incluye aspectos como la ternura, la expresión verbal de afectos y cariños, incluye el abrazo cálido con la persona amada, incluye la búsqueda de una relación de respeto donde se vive una intimidad que se nutre del plano no solo emocional sino también espiritual. La sexualidad emocional es la manifestación de Génesis 2:25 "estaban ambos desnudos, Adán y Eva y no se avergonzaban". En una sexualidad acorde al Diseño Inteligente no hay secretos, y se puede estar "desnudo" frente al otro, tanto en el plano físico, como en el emocional y el espiritual, y sentirnos en "tierra amiga", sintiéndonos respetados y aceptados. En medio de una época donde el valor de la sexualidad ha sido secuestrado por el humanismo y las interpretaciones personales, es posible tener una sexualidad con propósito. La verdadera intimidad es el fruto principal de la relación sexual y del compromiso matrimonial!__________ Under the current conception, sexuality is viewed in a partial manner, where the biological and physical aspects are emphasized from a hedonistic and impoverished perspective. However, what should interest us most is seeing sexuality in light of intelligent design. We refer to emotional sexuality, which should be seen as the soul of an integral sexuality. Emotional sexuality is the crown of physical sexuality and includes aspects such as tenderness, the verbal expression of affection and love, the warm embrace of a loved one, and the pursuit of a respectful relationship in which intimacy is nourished not only emotionally but also spiritually.
Emotional sexuality is the manifestation of Genesis 2:25: "They were both naked, Adam and Eve, and they felt no shame." In sexuality aligned with intelligent design, there are no secrets, and one can be "naked" before the other--not only physically, but also emotionally and spiritually, feeling at home, respected, and accepted. In an era where the value of sexuality has been hijacked by humanism and personal interpretations, it is still possible to have a sexuality with purpose. True intimacy is the primary fruit of both sexual union and marital commitment!

Juan Varela Álvarez nació en Asturias, es licenciado en teología por el SETEHO en Centro América, Bachiller en teología por el IBSTE en España, y posee un Máster en Intervención Familiar Sistémica por el Centro KINE de Barcelona. Ha completado su formación con un posgrado en Consejería Bíblica y Mediación Familiar; y en el área de la sexualidad ha realizado estudios de Intervención en los Trastornos Sexuales. Asimismo ha obtenido un Coaching en Identidad Sexual y Género.
Es presidente del Grupo de Trabajo de Familia de la Alianza Evangélica Española, fundador y director del Instituto de Formación Familiar. Juan Varela, y su esposa María del Mar Molina, tienen un hijo, Noel Josué, quien colabora con ellos en el Centro de Orientación y Mediación Familiar COMEFA. Juan Varela es autor del libro Tu identidad importa y otros cuatro títulos.__________
Juan Varela Álvarez was born in Asturias, Spain. He holds a Degree in Theology from the SETEHO in Central America, a Bachelor in Theology from IBSTE in Spain, and a Master in Systemic Family Intervention from the KINE Center in Barcelona. He has furthered his education with a postgraduate degree in Biblical Counseling and Family Mediation. In the field of sexuality, he has undertaken studies in Intervention in Sexual Disorders. Additionally, he has received training in Sexual Identity and Gender Coaching.
He serves as the president of the Family Working Group of the Spanish Evangelical Alliance, and is the founder and director of the Family Training Institute. Juan Varela and his wife, María del Mar Molina, have a son, Noel Josué, who collaborates with them at the Family Guidance and Mediation Center, COMEFA.
