Hanna Schmidt trabaja como secretaria en una de las sedes del Grupo de Fuerzas Soviéticas en Alemania (GFSA). Aunque es consciente de la responsabilidad y el compromiso que esto conlleva, no comparte los ideales de este lado de Berlín en el que ha quedado atrapada. Desde que se fue su padre cuando apenas era una niña, sueña con ir al otro lado del muro, un lugar donde se puede pensar y pasear libremente, donde se bebe Coca-Cola y se leen libros como 1984. Tal vez por eso lleva un tiempo colaborando como informante para un grupo de jóvenes disidentes que buscan la caída del telón de acero. Mattias Gutt es uno de ellos y no es solo el destinatario de las cartas que se intercambian entre los huecos del enorme muro de hormigón; también es la única persona que está dispuesta a ayudarla a localizar a su padre. Hanna Schmidt is a secretary at the headquarters of the Group of Soviet Occupation Forces in Germany (GSOFG). While conscious of the responsibility of her position, she does not share the ideals of the Eastern Bloc in which she is trapped. Her father left the family when she was a young girl, and since then she has dreamed of life on the other side of the wall, where people can think and travel freely, drink Coca-Cola and read books like 1984. For some time, she's been an informant for a group of young dissidents dedicated to lifting the Iron Curtain. Among them is Mattias Gutt, who not only exchanges letters with Hanna through a hole in the wall but also agrees to help find her father. It won't be easy; Hanna feels a constant presence shadowing her movements. And she's right: Klaus Ivanov, a party loyalist, is tailing her every step. Selva Palacios nació en Madrid en el año 1987. Adora inventar historias porque cree que su realidad tiene demasiadas dosis de rutina. La combate creando mundos paralelos a través de su escritura. La informante de Berlín es su primera novela en Suma.
