by Thatiana Pretelt (Author)

ENGLISH DESCRPTION

"Every stitch was a step towards their freedom."

In New Panama, 1745, three brave women of African descent, Damiana, Manuela, and Mar?a Yoruba, find hope amid slavery. These talented embroideresses of creole skirts devise a bold plan to sell their precious creations to smugglers cruising along the river Cocl? del Norte and escape their oppressors with the earnings. However, their dreams of freedom come crashing down when one of them is found dead on Chorrillo road, her throat slit, surrounded by seashells used in the Yoruba religion, causing widespread panic among civilian and ecclesiastical authorities, suspecting a satanic sacrifice.

An inspiring story that illuminates an obscure chapter of Panamanian society and shows us how the courage and talent of these embroideresses became symbols of resistance and struggle, leaving an indelible mark in the history of Panama.

Intrigue, seduction, revenge, a fascinating journey by the hand of Thatiana Pretelt, a storyteller that seduces on every page.
