English description: Latin is still a crucial language for all scholars of diachronic or synchronic linguistics. But more and more students have to learn Latin in a crowded crash-course at the university, and so there is a certain need for anthologies which enable students to intensify and deepen their grammatical knowledges and at the same time inform them about the history of Latin literature. Beginning with Plautus and ending with Apicius the reader tries to show the wealth of Latin texts and to encourage students to improve their knowledge. Diese Reihe erschliesst die Quellen in einer zeitgemassen Weise.Das vorliegende Lesebuch bietet einen Einblick in die lateinische Literatur und Sprachgeschichte von Plautus bis Apicius und ermoglicht durch ein ausfuhrliches Glossar und zahlreiche sprachliche Erlauterungen Studierenden mit begrenzten Lateinkenntnissen die Lekture der Originaltexte.

Contributor Biography - German PD Dr. Susanne Zeilfelder studierte Indogermanistik, Lateinische Philologie und Klassische Archaologie in Wurzburg. Derzeit leitet sie die Arbeitsstelle "Deutsche Wortfeldetymologie in europaischem Kontext" der Sachsischen Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Leipzig, die an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat Jena angesiedelt ist. Contributor Biography - English Born in Schwetzingen/Germany, Susanne Zeilfelder studied Indo-european linguistics in Wurzburg, became D.phil. in Giessen in 1994, habilitation in 2001 in Jena. Until 2007 assistent at the chair for Indo-European studies at Jena, now research assistent in the project "Deutsche Wortfeldetymologie in europaischem Kontext" at Jena, Academy of Science Leipzig.
