Meet Leo, a proud Jamaican Rottweiler who thinks he has the whole world figured out.
He knows his yard. He knows his family. He knows exactly how much food should be in his bowl. And he takes his job protecting Avi very seriously.
Then boxes start appearing everywhere.
Leo soon learns that his family is moving from Jamaica to America, and suddenly nothing makes sense. People can fly in airplanes? Dogs need special travel arrangements? And why does everyone keep acting like this is normal?
Filled with humor, heart, Jamaican culture, and Leo's unforgettable Patois, Leo Is Going to America! follows one very confident dog as he faces the biggest change of his life.
Along the way, young readers discover that being brave does not mean you are never scared. Sometimes courage is simply taking the next step.
A warm and funny picture-book adventure about family, migration, belonging, courage, and staying true to who you are.
Perfect for ages 4-8, families experiencing change, dog lovers, and children discovering cultures beyond their own.
