Virginia knows her father, Peter Tangvald, only through books and interviews. The legendary Norwegian adventurer spent his life sailing the world's oceans on a sailboat he built himself, defying the elements and convention. Nacida en alta mar en 1986, Virginia Tangvald creció en Canadá y hoy vive en París. Su primera novela, Los niños de altamar, aclamada por la crítica y los lectores, ha sido galardonada con el Prix révélation d'automne SGDL y nominada al Grand Prix des Lectrices Elle, al Prix du roman Version Femina, al Prix des écrivains de marine, al Prix du temps retrouvé, al Prix Jules Rimet y al Prix Stanislas. Tangvald ha dirigido un documental homónimo que se estrenó en el Festival Nouveau Cinéma de Montreal, donde ganó el Premio del Público TV5 a la mejor película francófona. Está trabajando en una segunda novela.
