She was forty-eight years old. At the time of her sudden death, she was with her husband and four of her friends. Juan Gabriel V?squez (Bogot?, 1973) es autor de las colecciones de relatos Los amantes de Todos los Santos y Canciones para el incendio (Premio Biblioteca de Narrativa Colombiana) y de las novelas Los informantes, Historia secreta de Costaguana, El ruido de las cosas al caer (Premio Alfaguara, Premio Gregor von Rezzori-Citt? di Firenze, The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award), Las reputaciones (Premio Real Academia Espa?ola, Premio Literario Arzobispo Juan de San Clemente, Pr?mio Casa da Am?rica Latina de Lisboa), La forma de las ruinas (Pr?mio Liter?rio Casino da P?voa) y Volver la vista atr?s (Premio Bienal de Novela Mario Vargas Llosa). V?squez ha publicado tambi?n dos recopilaciones de ensayos literarios, El arte de la distorsi?n y Viajes con un mapa en blanco, y una breve biograf?a de Joseph Conrad, El hombre de ninguna parte. Ha traducido obras de Joseph Conrad, Victor Hugo y E. M. Forster, entre otros. Ha ganado dos veces el Premio Nacional de Periodismo Sim?n Bol?var. En 2016 fue nombrado Caballero de la Orden de las Artes y las Letras de la rep?blica francesa, y en 2018 recibi? la Orden de Isabel la Cat?lica. Sus libros se publican en 30 lenguas. Es columnista del peri?dico espa?ol El Pa?s.
