Love Poems as We Age is collection of forty-five poems that examine love through the lens of time and maturity. Written to mark the sixty-fifth birthday of the poet's wife, the poems celebrate a couple's accomplishment, and they describe the beauty and grandeur two people encounter together in day-to-day, settled life. From aging bodies to sleep habits, from income sources to shared kitchen chores, from new views of a familiar spouse to musings about children and reflections on grandchildren, the poems describe experiences that ordinary people recognize and appreciate.
Written in a metrical style, the poems appeal to a wide audience.
