After obtaining a Bachelor's in Nursing, she spent several years as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse before deciding to pursue graduate school. Her collegiate years concluded with a Master's in Family Practice as a Nurse Practitioner and a Master's in Journalism and Communications. As a professional in the medical field, she has focused on family health and dermatology.
