"WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS, why can't he change? And how is he SO different than when we were courting?"
This book is a resource for other women to help them analyze what is involved in dealing with a relationship with a sociopath. In today's world there are many more opportunities available to help women who find that they are in such a situation, whether they are already married or not. If they have already had children, it gets a lot more complicated. A good counselor is probably the best resource.
This is Betty's personal story of how she dealt with her relationship with her husband of sixty-four years and how it cost her nearly everything. Marriage, she believed, was sacred. She had made her vow before God and her loved ones, and she intended that the marriage should last "till death do us part." This is how she dealt with a lifetime of exposure to cruelty after being charmed, courted, and wed to someone with no regard for the feelings of others-a husband with no affection or caring.
