They lived in Canada for three years, then the Gulf region of the Middle East for twelve years where she worked for children's newspaper \u003ci\u003eYoung Times\u003c\/i\u003e writing feature articles, short stories and a counselling column. As a CELTA trained teacher, Prue also taught English as a foreign language to Arabic speakers. Her award-winning book \u003ci\u003eCamel Rider, \u003c\/i\u003eas well as \u003ci\u003eDestination Abudai\u003c\/i\u003e and \u003ci\u003eZafir: Through My Eyes, \u003c\/i\u003ewere written based on her experiences of living and travelling in the Middle East. Prue returned to Australia in 2001.
