St. Louis World's Fair -- 1904 A hundred years after the Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United States, a World's Fair -- the Louisiana Purchase Exposition -- was held in Missouri to celebrate the event. Photographer T.W. Ingersoll documented the fair with his stereoscopic camera. Meet Me at the Fair revisits the exposition with 100 Ingersoll images, reproduced in black and white. The images were originally published as a set in 1904.
Author Biography
Prize-winning photographer Michael W. Lemberger and award-winning author Leigh Michaels have been fans of the St. Louis World's Fair since they honeymooned in Forest Park, the site of the fair. They are also the authors of a full-color book about the fair.
