The inspiring true story of the first American-born Pope-now updated with more details from Pope Leo XIV's early papacy, time in Peru, and childhood.
Born and raised on the southwest side of Chicago, Robert Francis Prevost never dreamed he'd one day become Pope Leo XIV. He just kept saying yes-to learning, to serving, and to walking humbly with others. And step by step, that yes led him from altar boy to priest to bishop to Pope.
Written especially for ages 8-12, this fully updated edition includes:
- New details about Pope Leo's early life and family
- Expanded stories from his 20 years of service in Peru
- A new chapter on his historic election and first month as Pope
- An updated timeline, glossary, and reflection questions
With warmth, clarity, and gentle encouragement, Meet Pope Leo XIV shows young readers that leadership doesn't require fame or power-it begins with kindness, courage, and saying yes to the people around you.
Perfect for kids curious about faith, world leaders, or modern Church history.
