This book is a chronicle of District 8's long and distinguished history in Toastmasters. It is a 75 year history of Metamorphosis of District with an organization, which is now an influential global organization. Toastmasters was developing rapidly in California in the late 1930s; however, the heartland of America did not yet have any districts. A geographical region needed at least 10 clubs to form a district. When the states of Illinois and most of Missouri reached that level in 1940, the Toastmasters International Board of Directors approved the formation of District 8. From that moment in history to-date, District 8 members has been part of a journey to develop communications and leadership skills.
