Quiara Alegría Hudes es dramaturga, esposa, madre de dos, feminista de barrio y nativa de West Philly, EE.UU. Aclamadas por su exuberancia, rigor intelectual y rica imaginación, las obras de teatro y los musicales que ha escrito han sido representados mundialmente. Entre ellas se encuentran In the Heights, un musical de Broadway que se estrenó como película, y Water by the Spoonful, un drama sobre una comunidad de autoayuda y recuperación en línea.
