In our current times, stress is everywhere. We are constantly feeling anxious in our workplaces, at home, at school; always worrying about things we've already done, and things we still have to do. We live so caught-up in times that have past or times that still haven't come, that we do not focus on our present. Mindful practices seek to bring us back to this lost moment; to make us observe and be aware of our surroundings and of what's within ourselves, right now.
It has been proven that the practice of mindfulness has a positive impact on us in many different areas, as it allows us to clear our minds and focus, improving our present selves to be more attentive and kind.
A mindful leader will give their team ease and comfort, ensuring a peaceful environment in which the group will feel encouraged to fulfill their tasks correctly, and will feel motivated to continue offering their best efforts, regardless of the presence of monetary bonuses that other, less-mindful workplaces might offer, in exchange for more stressful work environments. Providing peace of mind in the workplace will prove to be cheaper and more effective to retain staff, as they are happy and comfortable, and in these current times, most people will prefer that, over higher wages that end up being used in therapy to get over the constant stress they live.
