The family also endured harrowing trials and narrowly escaped death during the 1900 Boxer Rebellion. These delightful vignettes of transforming grace are gleaned from their personal experiences in China. From the preface, "For years we have felt a strong desire to put down in some permanent form the record of God's miraculous power in the conversion of men as we have seen it in our mission work in China."
