Elucidating\u003cbr\u003e the dynamic behavior of the components of pathways, and their interactions, is one of the key\u003cbr\u003e research areas of systems biology.\u003cbr\u003e Biological signaling networks are characterized by a large number of components and an\u003cbr\u003e even larger number of parameters describing the network. Furthermore, investigations of\u003cbr\u003e signaling networks are characterized by large uncertainties of the network as well as limited\u003cbr\u003e availability of data due to expensive and time-consuming experiments.
