Toledo, 2023. Eleonor has realized that for years, she's been living a life she doesn't want. The ancestral family home, however, turns out to be almost as chaotic as her state of mind, cluttered with antiques and books in the process of being sorted - among them, a fraying diary dating back to the sixteenth century. In an intrigue spanning two timelines, we learn that Eleonor and the diary's author are battling the same enemy: forces who will go to any lengths to conceal a legacy of violence. In the process, both women discover that only inner strength can save them from the fire.
