SERENA KING drafted this book after hearing dozens of questions about her writing journey. People wanted to know more about the process and how she had navigated through each step of self-publishing. In order to consolidate her story, King combined her experience, research and ultimate release of her first novel, "Loving Legit," into a short resource guide for aspiring authors. After publishing her own novel, she organized a manuscript that provided readers with a personal account of her 'absolute journey' in publishing. "My Absolute Journey: My Short Guide to Self-Publishing" details King's experience and what she learned along the way. She outlines the step-by-step process of what it takes to write a book and how to prepare a manuscript for completion. Dedication and hard-work, along with personal sacrifices, have brought her this far in her life. She wants to inspire, teach, motivate and show people that if you take the time to apply yourself, you can achieve more than you ever think possible. SERENA KING is a self-starter and is destined to win. Growing up as the child of two drug-addicted parents, she felt the determination to succeed within her despite the overwhelming odds stacked against her. Two core values motivate her on a daily basis: a desire to succeed and to overcome the challenges of her past. She is the author of two books, "Loving Legit" and "My Absolute Journey," and plans to continue to write as long as she feels so inspired. King believes that if you have a dream, you should chase it, envision it and manifest it!
Author Biography
SERENA KING is an author who has personally lived the challenge of making your way in the world when you're young, female and black. The child of troubled parents, she grew up in foster homes. Serena is an author, blogger and mentor. She has published content on Yahoo, provided journalistic coverage for the National Association for Black Accountants, and served as staff writer for The Panther Newsletter. She has also published a novel titled, "Loving LeGit" and a memoir, "My Absolute Journey." Both are available on Amazon.com.
