The author begins her story by remembering that she had a nervous breakdown after enlisting in the Navy and as time passed not dealing with her bipolar depression and traumatic stress, she eventually lost control after the death of her mother. That begins her story in Narcotics Anonymous, her step program, journaling, and healing from her pain.
