Spanning thirty-five years of school leadership, across seven schools and four countries, 'My Educated Life' offers practical strategies for leaders-aspiring, new, and experienced.
Uniquely insightful and delightfully personal, 'My Educated Life' blends expertise with anecdote. Through stories, reflections, crisis, lessons learned, and even an attempted abduction, Paul argues that great schools, leaders, and teachers are constantly reimagining themselves. Reimaginings both great and small.
Built around three leadership assets-trust, hope, and care-the book guides you in reimagining your own school and your own professional self. It provides tools, techniques, and examples supporting you through contemporary leadership issues: recruitment and retention, technology, wellbeing, emergency response, and performance management.
Taking you from Sydney to Makassar to Kuala Lumpur (each a stop on his Headship journey), Paul delves into the past (and into his past) considering the legacy of earlier educational influencers. He also looks to the future, considering where your own educated life may take you.
Heart-warming and humorous, practical and prophetic, 'My Educated Life' provides a series of unique 'lessons' from a life in leadership.
