Author Biography
Author Ruth Stiles Gannett (1923-2004) wrote My Father's Dragon a few years after she graduated from college. The book received high praise for its imaginative storytelling, winning a Newbery Honor Award and becoming an American Library Association Notable Book. Illustrator Ruth Chrisman Gannett (1896-1979) is best known for her artwork in award-winning books for children, including My Father's Dragon, written by her stepdaughter.
