The book comprises a selection of articles from 1942-3 that originally appeared in the WAR and CURRENT AFFAIRS series of pamphlets published by the Army Bureau of Current Affairs for the education of British servicemen. Among the contributions is an eye-witness account of the Germans marching into Paris that provides some interesting aspects on the nature of the early occupation of the city.
