Me llamo Dannielle y, a mis veintidós años, he atravesado el infierno en más de una ocasión y el precio que mi mente tuvo que pagar fue fragmentarse. Después de salir del hospital psiquiátrico he intentado tener una vida normal como estudiante de Medicina, pero mis compañeros notan que hay algo diferente en mí. Mi forma de hablar y cómo evito ciertas miradas provocan preguntas a mi alrededor, sin saber que hay historias que no deberían salir a la luz.
Marck, mi maestro de Cardiología, se ha convertido en algo más que una figura de autoridad y no quiero perderlo. Su manera de mirarme, de enseñarme a leer los silencios del corazón, despiertan en mí una ternura que creía muerta. My name is Dannielle, and at twenty-two years old, I've walked through hell more than once--and the price my mind had to pay was to fracture. After leaving the psychiatric hospital, I've tried to live a normal life as a medical student, but my classmates sense something different about me. The way I speak and avoid certain glances raise questions, unaware that some stories should never come to light.
Marck, my Cardiology professor, has become more than just an authority figure, and I don't want to lose him. The way he looks at me, teaches me to read the silences of the heart, awakens a tenderness I thought was long gone. But there's also Anthony, my psychiatrist--the only one who, despite seeing the ruins I became, dared to stay. I can't afford to ruin everything, even though it only takes a spark to start a fire, and this time it might be so big that no one escapes its flames.
