Los Angeles comprises eighty-eight incorporated cities with severe socioeconomic disparities, a fact that gets lost by the glamour generated by the film and music industries. Most people rely on a car to navigate the great distances that characterise this metropolis, a mode of transportation that presents them with the opportunity to gloss over the increasing forms of inequality.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eAuthor Biography\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eAyda Gragossian is an Iranian visual artist based in Los Angeles. She has a BA in Photography and Painting from California State University Northridge and an MFA from the Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford. Her work addresses the notions of displacement, impermanence, longing, and nostalgia, individually and collectively.
