Bill Flanagan began his hockey life as a stick boy on his dad's national champion Burlington Midget teams before becoming a prep school all-star at Austin Prep and Canterbury School and a D-1 force at RPI when a fluke slapshot to the head abruptly ended his playing career. In ONE LAST SHIFT, Flanagan recounts how he reinvented himself as a coach known for passion and blue-collar grit, refusing to give up the game he loved. Over 33 thrilling years behind the bench, Coach Bill supercharged a losing Austin Prep program back into a regional powerhouse and then teamed up with his brother Joe to create the Northern Cyclones, one of the country's premier hockey programs.
While racking up Coach of the Year awards, a winning percentage of 74.42%, multiple championships, and 300+ college hockey commitments, Coach Bill made a name for himself as a trailblazer in the high-stakes world of hockey development.
