Will books are one of the best resources for determining family relationships in genealogy research. This volume contains records from Orange County Will Book 6 (22 October 1821 to 24 September 1827) beginning on page 1 through page 536, for wills and settlements of estates recorded 22 October 1821 through 24 December 1827; Orange County Will Book 7 (24 December 1827 to 11 October 1833) beginning on page 1 through page 635, for wills and settlements of estates recorded 24 December 1827 through 23 December 1833; and, Orange County Will Book 8 (24 February 1834 to 28 January 1839) beginning on page 1 through page 408, for wills and settlements of estates recorded 24 February 1834 through 28 January 1839. In addition to the full name of the deceased, these records offer a rich source of names, which may include spouse, children, relatives, witnesses, and/or others. Estate inventories provide a fascinating look at possessions during this time period. An appendix, Abstracts of Suits Filed in the Superior Court of Orange County, Virginia; and an every-name index add to the value of this work.
