Author Biography
Ema Skooh was born in Alabama and raised on a farm with a busy creek coupling through the back yard with rapidly flowing water rolling between two deep banks. The front yard kissed the railroad tracks with passenger and freight trains rumbling past 24 hours per day. The house she grew up in was situated in the middle of corn fields, cotton fields, a sugarcane field, watermelon and peanut patches. Also, surrounding the outhouse were cow pastures and horses, mules and hogs' barns. A chicken house and a smoke house were also in very close proximity. A passion for cooking has always been a part of Ema Skooh. She remembers practicing since before she was tall enough to reach the top of the stove. She experimented with different recipes throughout her adult life until finally she has put together a book of about 30 recipes for her first cornmeal cookbook. She is currently working on her second cookbook. Ema Skooh is also a certified educator and writer of children's stories. Although she has a multitude of hobbies including quilt-making, she enjoys life best when she is cooking and sharing her recipes with others.
