Through poetry, Outside Is the Place to Go conveys a deep appreciation of nature. The poems allow children to replace their fears of a thunderstorm with the excitement of hearing a song and eagerly waiting for the calm and beauty that will follow.
Rain and sunshine tell us why rainbows end up in the sky.
Using rhythm, rhyme, personification, and rich description, Outside Is the Place to Go details the pleasure of listening to a storm roll in, as well as the gift of witnessing a rainbow through the eyes of a child.
Smell the roses. Feel the breeze. Hear the buzzing of the bees.
Outside Is the Place to Go encourages children of all ages to embrace each of their senses when venturing outside. Concrete details and figurative language capture sunrise and sunset and a child's joy playing in the great outdoors. Outside Is the Place to Go is a perfect gift for anyone you hope will weather the storm and wait for the rainbow.
