by Reuben White (Author)
Reuben White was born into something greater than abundance - he was born into a family of Overcomers. Growing up as the seventh child in a poor, Black, segregated town in Clio, Alabama, Reuben's world was shaped by hardship, resilience, and the unwavering strength of a mother who "never paid carrying charges" and built a foundation no circumstance could shake. From "$2.97 worth of cotton picked by hand" to leading global quality operations across continents, Reuben's journey traces his rise from the cotton fields to corporate leadership. Along the way, he navigates integration, earns a college education through a government grant, and climbs from a shirt factory supervisor to Director of Quality Assurance at a major U.S. company.
But Overcomers is more than a story of achievement. It is a tribute to the mother who "made it to the third grade" yet understood everything, the village that protected every child, and the faith that carried him from Clio to China and back again.
Honest, human, and deeply rooted in legacy, Overcomers reminds us that where we come from shapes who we become - and that Reuben White never forgot the woman who made it all possible.
