She immigrated to the United States with her husband and children in 1991, during the First Liberian Civil War. Wesley is the author of six collections of poetry, including \u003ci\u003ePraise Song for My Children: New and Selected Poems\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eBecoming Ebony\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003eWhen the Wanderers Come Home\u003c\/i\u003e (Nebraska, 2016). \u003cb\u003eKwame Dawes\u003c\/b\u003e is a professor of literary arts at Brown University and the director and series editor of the African Poetry Book Fund. \u003cb\u003eMarguerite L. Harrold\u003c\/b\u003e is the author of \u003ci\u003eChicago House Music: Culture and Community\u003c\/i\u003e. She is a PhD student in English (creative writing) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. \u003cb\u003eGabeba Baderoon\u003c\/b\u003e is a poet and scholar.
