It flatters people when you show concern for the issues affecting them. They grow to like and trust you. They're convinced that any ideas that you come up with are for their good, and you'll find it easy to influence them.

A rejection of your ideas or views should not be viewed as the rejecting of you as a person. Maintain mutual relationships. It's a small world, you never know when your paths will cross.
