AlzAuthors, the global community of authors writing about Alzheimer's and dementia from personal experience to light the way for others, has gathered a collection of poetry on the dementia journey.
Here you will find a variety of voices writing from the different stages of caregiving: pre-diagnosis, after the diagnosis, years of care, end of life, and beyond. And you will encounter voices from many different caregiving situations: caring for a spouse or partner, a mother, father, grandparent, or sibling. You will experience the pain, fear, and joy that accompanies a dementia diagnosis, as well as the love and the loss. On April 18, 2023, these poets gathered for a two-hour poetry reading and shared their work, which you can watch on our YouTube channel or listen to on our podcast, Untangling Alzheimer's and Dementia. Welcome to the journey.
