Power Electronics: DC-DC Converters for HVDC Transformations is a comprehensive guide that bridges the theoretical and practical aspects of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power electronics. Authored by expert educator and engineer Dr. Hemchandra M. Shertukde, this book explores the design, operation, and control of various DC-DC converter topologies, Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, and SEPIC, in the context of HVDC systems. Ideal for senior undergraduates, graduate students, and practicing engineers, the book provides in-depth coverage of: The fundamental and advanced working principles of DC-DC converters Applications in HVDC transmission, solar and wind energy systems, and electric vehicles MATLAB and PSpice simulations for modeling and performance analysis Case studies that illustrate real-world design and implementation challenges With a focus on control strategies and modern semiconductor technologies like IGBTs and IGCTs, this book is a critical resource for anyone involved in power system design, renewable energy integration, or electronic circuit development.
