Every heart sings the blues--but some more so than others.
God is near to the brokenhearted. The crushed in spirit. And those who are afraid. He sees the despairing. The grieved. The bruised reeds. He hears the songs of the poor.
For millennia the Psalms have served as a source of comfort and hope for troubled souls. In Psalms of Trust, beloved preacher H.B. Charles masterfully unpacks ten psalms, directing us toward the God who understands our pain and comes to our rescue.
H.B. writes on:
- Psalm 27--Trusting God in Every Situation
- Psalm 42--Hope in God
- Psalm 73--When Good Things Happen to Bad People
- Psalm 91--The Protective Custody of God
- And more
The Psalms encourage us to live with stubborn trust in God during every season of life. After encountering these meditations, we come away with a renewed sense of God's presence and a deep hope in His salvation.
Bring your complaints. Bring your sorrows. Sing the blues alongside the blues-singing psalmists. And discover with them the God who knows, hears, and is worthy of your hurting heart.
Courage is just fear that has said its prayers. The Bible calls it faith. H. B. Charles
